About Me
Retired 34 year veteran of the Buffalo NY Police Department where I spent the last 21 years of my career as a Detective in the Crime Scene Unit. I consider myself lucky that my job allowed me to learn photography on medium format film cameras and I was able to learn the skills of processing and developing photos in a darkroom. Although it was fun to learn that way I can't say I miss the days of taking a photo and keeping my fingers crossed. There is something to be said for instant feedback from your camera. I was also lucky to work with a very talented group of photographers who shared their skills and expertise with me. Some of them have forgotten more about photography than I will ever know and were a constant help and inspiration to me. As far as my love for the night sky I fell in love with it at a very young age and always owned at least one telescope growing up. As the digital age of astrophotography grew it was only natural for me to move from the eyepiece to the camera. I am still in the early learning curve of this very complicated aspect of amateur astronomy. My photos certainly dont have the wow factor of some you might see on the internet or in magazines but I continue to try to improve my craft. I hope you enjoy.
